Our hiring process

We’re people first, and it’s really important to us that we have a great culture, especially while the team is so small. We also want Proxima to be a great place to work when we have 100 employees so ensuring we have the right people to get us there is critical.

We feel it’s important to recognise that not all cultures or languages might express things in the same way. We respect that and want to proactively accommodate for this. Below is an outline of what you can expect during our hiring process so that you can prepare. We’ve also provided information on our culture and our core values. For each role we’ll also specifically outline what our requirements are and what you can expect from us in the job description.

Screening Process

Upon submission of your CV and cover letter, we’ll assess the application against a set of criteria determined by the needs of the role. This may be done internally or by a recruiter.

First Round Interviews

A conversation-style interview with either our CEO or CTO and the role’s team lead. This is where we look for culture fit - we want to know about what makes you you, what you’re passionate about, and what are all of the experiences that have brought you to the point you’re at today. We also want to make sure you have the space to ask questions about us, our story, where we’re going and make sure Proxima is a place you’d like to work.

Second Round Interview

A more formal-style interview with the team lead and Head of Department. In this interview we’ll ask you a range of behavioural and situational based questions. We’re looking for examples of how you dealt with past challenges and approached different situations in your previous roles.

Final Round Interview

Held with the team lead and our CEO or CTO, this interview usually involves a small task or problem to solve prior to the interview e.g. if you’re an engineer, we might get you to write a piece of code or if you’re applying for a sales role this might be the conversation flow you’d take a client through. This is designed as a skills assessment and we’ll ask you to walk us through your solution, process and thinking around the task. We will also share our processes and how we work.

Decision and Offer

We’ll take the time to collect feedback from the team members involved in your interviews and come back to you with a decision. We’ll present you with an offer and we can finalise contract details and logistics.

Business Development Manager - ANZ Focus / Global Remit

Proxima and Iris are on the hunt for a Business Development Manager to further drive our business across global markets.

The successful person will have a proven track record selling SaaS software solutions, ideally in the field of Data, AI or Machine Learning.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly capable BDM to join a high growth, AI tech company on the rise. You will be considered a founding team member and will be key to the companies future growth, on a global basis.

The organisation and product space are both on high growth trajectories. You will have an existing global customer base to leverage and a product that is vetted and approved by a key, global, Tier 1 social media platform. You will focus on driving annual customer and contract growth (license based) while further developing their organisational sales and customer engagement capability. You will be fully supported by the CEO, CTO, Head of Growth and Sales Leadership during sales related customer engagements including new & existing customer product presentations, pre-sales activities, conversational design and user experience discussions and anything else required to secure new business or grow an account.

What we're looking for:

  • New Business Sales
  • Account Development
  • Extensive SaaS sales experience (ideally with an SDR grounding)
  • A strong understanding of the modern technology landscape, ideally data related fields
  • Comfortable engaging and presenting to stakeholders at all levels - including C-level
  • Proven ability to manage a complex SaaS software sales cycle end to end
  • Ability to manage and close complex, high value software and services sales deals

Frontend Developer - Sydney

Proxima and Iris are on the hunt for a passionate Frontend Developer to help us build our next generation of products.

You’ll be working on products that are used by some of the world’s most well known brands and helping us build upon our existing foundation to build killer next-generation products in the AI space. Work with a growing and supportive team on greenfields products in a high-growth space and a zero-ego environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Helping build, maintain and improve our products and platforms
  • Working closely with product team to shape the future direction of existing product and building new product
  • Experimenting and prototyping with new layouts, UX and information architecture
  • Solution designing and architecture for future products and improving our current products

What we're looking for

Must haves:

  • Experience with React & Typescript
